However, the optimism surrounding this affordability may be short-lived, as Samsung has now quashed these expectations, bluntly asserting that such an economical venture is not in the cards. The dream of a wallet-friendly foldable device seems to have hit a roadblock, leaving enthusiasts to ponder the actual cost and features of Samsung's upcoming foldable innovation. Contrary to recent speculations, Samsung has officially dismissed rumours regarding the production of mid-range foldable smartphones. In response to inquiries, a spokesperson from Samsung Electronics categorically stated, "We do not have plans to produce foldable smartphones targeted at the midrange, and the recent rumors lack any factual basis." As of now, the midrange foldable smartphone arena appears to be exclusively occupied by Motorola, particularly with its Razr 40 / Razr 2023 model. Originally introduced in the US at $699.99, the Razr 2023 now stands at an enticing $499.99. Notably, this price point aligns closely with the rumoured target price for Samsung's speculated midrange Galaxy Z foldable, which, as clarified by Samsung, is not currently in the pipeline.
