Search giant has recently launched its flagship smartphone series, the Pixel 8 Series, in India and the global market.
The series includes the and Pixel 8 Pro phones, which arrive with a plethora of features.
Nevertheless, following the initial shipments of these devices, a minor issue related to the always-on screen on the Pixel 8 Pro has surfaced.
Some users have reported instances where text displays in shades of pink or yellow, a concern that has gained traction on social media platforms.
According to multiple Reddit posts, there is a peculiar issue with the Always On Display (AOD) on some devices.
In this problem, certain parts of the AOD transition from a white hue to yellow within a few seconds and then shift to a reddish-pink shade after an additional two to three seconds.
Once the display returns to its full brightness, everything appears to be normal, including the text.
Interestingly, some users have observed that this problem tends to happen more frequently in low-light environments.
Some Pixel 8 series users have also reported that the handsets are facing discolouration with the models running both on the and the QPR1 beta builds.
This suggests that the issue may be related to the hardware rather than the software.
Some users have speculated that the problem could be linked to the Pixel 8 Pro's variable refresh rate OLED, a feature not present in the regular Pixel 8.
This distinction further points towards a potential hardware-related issue.
The situation remains unchanged, with Google yet to release an official statement regarding the issue.
The cause, whether it's hardware or software-related, still remains uncertain.
However, multiple users have experienced the problem to such an extent that there are reports of Google providing them with replacement devices.
It's worth noting that this information is not officially confirmed at this time.
