Chinese smartphone manufacturer has finally launched its most awaited foldable smartphone in the global market at the 'Open for Everything' event held in Mumbai BKC on October 20.
This marks a bold move, as OnePlus competes directly with the dominant leader in the foldable category, the Samsung Z Fold 5, which made its debut in July of the same year.
So here are our thoughts about both smartphones and which one suppresses the other.

This intensifies the competition in the quest for the top spot in the foldable smartphone category.
The newly launched OnePlus Open comes with a sleeker profile, and the most noticeable aspect is its invisible crease. Yes!
The crease on the foldable phone is hardly noticeable, unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Even while using the smartphone, it's very tough to say that there is a hinge beneath the display.
This is one of the most important features which has impressed us in the design aspect.
The cover display is almost the size of a regular phone, so if you are not willing to unfold the device again and again, you can still use it from the secondary display without compromising on the viewing experience.
While real-world performance is yet to be assessed, these specifications on paper hold great promise.
This demonstrates OnePlus's commitment to investing in its first foldable device and pushing the boundaries of camera capabilities.
In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 maintains a more conservative approach with its camera setup, which includes a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto lens.
While these cameras have proven their reliability and have been consistent in previous Fold models, the setup remains largely unchanged, missing the opportunity for refinement and significant upgrades.
This approach suggests that Samsung might not be as willing to push the envelope when it comes to camera technology in their foldable devices.

To this query, I would confidently say that the OnePlus Open emerges as the winner, primarily due to its exquisite design and the virtually invisible crease on its foldable screen.
Additionally, the OnePlus Open comes with a more budget-friendly price tag.
With nearly identical specifications and performance across the board, it becomes the clear choice for those looking for a balance between aesthetics and functionality.
