The Google Pixel 8 Pro, renowned for its exceptional camera capabilities, has now also claimed the title of offering the best display, as per DXOMARK assessments. With specifications that include a 6.7-inch OLED display featuring a 1344 x 2992 resolution, a high 120Hz refresh rate, Corning Glass Victus 2 protection, and a peak brightness of 2,400 nits, the Pixel 8 Pro achieved a readability score of 162. DXOMARK underlines its exceptional performance, particularly in outdoor and direct sunlight conditions. Scoring 164 for colour, the Pixel 8 Pro consistently maintained accurate skin tones in various lighting scenarios, resulting in a vibrant rendering of photos. The standard Google Pixel 8 also managed to secure the top spot for the best display in the smartphone segment. Sporting a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, the Pixel 8 excelled in readability under direct sunlight and outdoor conditions. While DXOMARK noted that the Pixel 8 was slightly less bright than the iPhone 15 when viewing photos, it shone in terms of web page visibility. Its colour reproduction, particularly in rendering skin tones, earned praise. However, the assessment pointed out a 'slight pink cast' outdoors when strong light sources came from upper-angle sides. For video playback, the Pixel 8 Pro demonstrated 'very good' brightness even in low-light viewing environments. Just like its Pro counterpart, the Pixel 8 offered a smooth experience but exhibited some limitations in gaming performance.
